Dr. Laura Torres-Barré:
Dr. Laura Torres-Barré, a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, opened EOSM on September 6, 2006 after practicing previously for the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Her work at the University of Texas consisted of Level 1 Trauma and general Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Torres-Barré also served as a Clinical Professor for the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and contributed to many publications and presentations. She is a current member in several local, regional, and national professional associations, including the Harris County Orthopedic Association, the Texas Orthopedic Association, the Association of American Orthopedic Surgeons, and the American Orthopedic Women’s Association, to name only a few. Dr. Torres-Barré is an active contributor to several appointment hospital trauma and orthopedic committees and maintains hospital appointments at Memorial Hermann Hospital-Medical Center, Memorial Hermann Hospital-Southeast, Houston Physician Hospital, Clear Lake Regional Hospital, The Palladium, and United Surgery Center.
Prior to beginning her private practice, Dr. Torres served as the Medical Director for the University of Texas regional orthopedic clinic in Pearland. As one of the only bi-lingual Hispanic woman Orthopedic Surgeon in Houston and vicinity, Dr. Torres-Barré’s reputation in the community is outstanding and the care she provides for her patients is obvious and second-to-none.
She is the team physician for Dawson High School and provided her services as one of the team physicians for the Houston Comets WNBA team. Dr. Torres-Barré appeared for documentary and news features on the Lifetime for Women network and Channel 11 news. Among her many contributions to the local community, Dr. Torres-Barré and her team offer a monthly clinic for Pearland and surrounding communities providing gait analysis, massage therapy, and general medical advice for local runners, cyclists, and other athletes.
Dr. Torres-Barré spends her free time with her husband, Mark, and her three children.
